Henry is moving on...

And that means that Fred, Wilma, and all the other pullets will be a lot less stressed. Henry (a Gold Laced Wyandotte) is going to be a pretty rooster but he's not very nice. I have someone interested in him so he should be leaving this weekend.

That inspired me to change the rooster on the Grand Boardwalk (mini version) to look like Fred, our Golden Polish cockerel. I'm really pleased with the results. What do you think?

We have that same breed of Rooster with the same problems. In fact just last night he ran down the driveway from the house area, across a large yard, over the ditch to the bottom area of our property just to attack me!

He was a present so it is hard to remove him from our property (grandsons rooster)...but we may send him to rooster training.

The Golden Polish roo was the one we chose. The Wyandotte was a freebie the hatchery sent. The Polish is much calmer so it will be a happier chicken family once Henry moves on. :-)

I know nothing about roosters. When I was young though, my great grandparents who lived a block away kept chickens and of course, they had a rooster, and in the morning I would hear him making that noise roosters do in the morning. Sorry, I can't remember what it's called. It sounds something like coquerico, coquerico! Ahahaahah! Do I sound like a rooster?!! In those days, people were allowed to keep chickens in the city although not too many did. Your mini one is cute!

Many US cities allow a couple of backyard chickens. We live out in the country so we don't have to worry about that. Our roosters are still teenagers, lol, so when they attempt to crow it's pretty funny.

Thanks for the nice comment about my mini rooster. He was fun to repaint and I'm even happy with his feathers on his head.
